Master of Arts in Education
The Pangasinan State University-School of Advanced Studies offers Master of Arts in Education (MA.Ed.) as one of its post graduate programs. The MA.Ed Program has eleven (11) areas of specialization namely: (1) Communication Arts-English, (2) Communication Arts-Filipino, (3) Computer Education, (4) Educational Management, (5) Guidance and Counseling, (6) Instructional Leadership, (7) Mathematics Education, (8) Science Education, (9) Special Education, (10) Social Studies, and (11) Technology and Home Economics. The program caters to masteral students from the province of Pangasinan and nearby provinces from the Ilocos Region and Central Luzon.
The MA Ed program was first offered in 1961 in the Philippine –UNESCO National Community Training Center (PUNCTC) formerly known as the Pangasinan Normal School (PNS) since 1922. Then the MAEd program was historically and continuously offered until today in the same educational institution which has evolved with different names and has changed in time; grown in greater number of campuses, locations, population, programs, and had successions of the administrative heads and generations of staff and students.
Through time, the MAEd program had also undergone changes until today with its 11 areas of specialization producing highly motivated educational leaders, specialized master teachers, professors, researchers, extensionists, producers, and contributors to the realization of the national, regional, and local goals, upgraded with the international standards.
At present, the MAEd program is based in the current Pangasinan State University –School of Advanced Studies in Urdaneta City with satellite in PSU Bayambang where MAEd major in Special Education and Science Education are offered.
