PSU leads Future-Thinking Seminar for Planning Officers

Capitalizing on strategic foresight and futures-thinking, planning officers of the University engaged in a task that they do best – PLAN for the future of the institution, the personnel, students and the community in general.

Some 22 personnel from the Office of the Vice President for Planning and Finance Management (OVPPFM) immersed in a two-day Seminar on Strategic Foresight, Futures Thinking and Scenario Planning at The Greenery Bulacan on June 28-29, 2022.

With the theme ‘Gearing Towards Futures-Ready PSU’, the activities conducted do not only provide an alternative platform for the upskilling and retooling of the Planning Team but is also anchored on the objective of enhancing the skills and strengthening the bond among its members.

The seminar cum team building was led by the Vice-President for PPFM Dr. Corazon Puzon, the Planning Director, Planning Officers, staff and all Campus Planning Coordinators from the nine campuses of PSU including representatives of the School of Advanced Studies (SAS) and Open University Systems (OUS).

The learning providers were Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, Planning Director and Gregorio F. Delos Angeles Jr., Planning Officer whose discussions pivoted on the basic principles and framework of Strategic Foresight and Futures Thinking. The underpinnings of the topics discussed are the modules crafted by professors of the Development Academy of the Philippines where Dr. Tingco and Mr. Delos Angeles are completing a Certificate Course on said topics.

On the other hand, the team building activities were facilitated by Mr. Erwin Valenzuela, College Professor and Asian Tour Guide Officer.

PSU, with its visionary President Dr. Dexter R. Buted at the helm, stands as a paragon of excellence in people management and plan-crafting that would redound to benefit the stakeholders in pursuit of academic excellence.
