In Charts: PSU and DOST renews partnership for CEST Program

In response to the government’s initiative of alleviating poverty, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-1) Regional Office 1 is implementing the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program.

CEST Program aims to provide appropriate science and technology (S&T) interventions to the less-privileged communities in the region focusing on: Livelihood/ Economic Enterprise Development, Health and Nutrition, Human Resource Development, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Protection and Conservation.

For this year, municipalities of Agno, Bautista and Umingan were considered to be the project sites in the province based on the guidelines of the program.

PSU and DOST renews partnership in the implementation of the CEST program in the province of Pangasinan with the hope of strengthening provision of location-specific technologies adoptable to the communities.

In line with this, DOST-1 headed by Dr. Armando Q. Ganal, Regional Director and Engr. Arnold Santos, Provincial Director arranged a face-to-face orientation meeting with the Research Extension and Innovation unit of PSU led by Dr. Paulo V. Cenas on March 10, 2021 at the Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall, Lingayen, Pangasinan. Also present in the said affair were the Campus Executive Directors, REI Directors, Center Heads and Head of Research and Ethics Board./jjdz
