BEST PRACTICES

The Institute of Nursing of the Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campus has consistently endeavored in producing scholarly works that contributes to the betterment of the community around it. A proof of its endless commitment in generating knowledge on health care and well-being can be glimpsed on the number of awards and publications that it had earned through the years. Notable researches focused on Maternal and Child Care Services, and Development, Standardization and Characterization Studies of Native Delicacies were funded by Department of Health-PCHRD and the PCIEERD, respectively. Meanwhile, in the field of publication, works of its faculty and students were stringently screened and published on research journals. Some published works range from Food Safety Practices to Caring Practices.

Aside from providing a transformative education to its students, the Institute of Nursing is persistently striving in order to make itself relevant not just to its students but also to the community where it belongs. Researches from the Institute has benefitted the locals, equipping them with necessary knowledge on Maternal and Child Care Services as well as Nutrition and Food Safety. Concerned for the well-being of its community, the Institute had also forged linkage with the Local Government Unit in providing training for the local populace regarding Communicable Diseases. Thus, as an Institute known for instilling the sense of care to its students, it also endeavors to provide care for the surrounding locality.

As a natural byproduct of keeping itself relevant, the Institute had produced researches for the benefit of other scholars in the field of health care and food innovation as well as the local community. In 2018 alone, the Pangasinan State University-Bayambang Campus had earned 51 citations to which researches from the Institute of Nursing has generously contributed. On the other hand, in service of the community to where it is located, the Institute had trained the local populace techniques on food innovation and geriatric care. Example of these were the “Kalabasa para sa Masa” training program in benefit of the local farmers in Bayambang, and the Communicable Diseases training seminar in partnership with LGU-Bayambang.
