CAMPUS MISSION
Pangasinan State University has the noble mission of providing better service in
the technical and professional training in the arts, sciences, humanities, and in
the conduct of scientific research and technological studies and community service.
It has its priority of helping improve the life of the less fortunate to have a
vigorous physical, economic and social condition.

OBJECTIVES
PSU Alaminos Campus will support the eco-tourism industry of the western part of
Pangasinan and the City of Alaminos as the center of tourism, education, commerce,
trade, industry and services,
and shall serve as the source of manpower required
for the conduct of trainings and manpower development programs tied up to its short term, medium term and long-term development goals.
Specifically, the objectives are aimed at the following:
1. Provide an affordable and quality tertiary education to the people in the identified
service barangays and communities. The academic programs have been so identified
and well structured so as to enable the graduates’ greater opportunities and competitiveness
both in the local and global labor market.
2. Conduct of effective and relevant research and extension programs that are expected
to generate research based technologies for sustainable agriculture, fishery and
educational development initiatives.
Research and extensions are two of the University’s
major functions and shall be conducted to uplift and enhance the welfare of the
identified target clientele and service community.
3. Strengthen the partnership and networking between PSU Administration and the
municipality of Alaminos City and its neighboring towns and other stake holders
to ensure the sustainability and
growth of the organizational development initiatives
of both entities.
4. Support the eco-tourism industry of the Pangasinan West with Alaminos City as
the center and shall serve as the source of manpower required for the conduct of
trainings and manpower development programs tied-up to eco-tourism potentials of
Alaminos City.
PSU ALAMINOS CITY HISTORY
The Filipino people suffering from poverty brought about by the worsening scenario
in the global arena must face this ailing world with a tremendous faith in improving the quality of life through proper education which is a shared responsibility of
the people and the Government. If health is the cornerstone of a wealthy nation,
in like manner, education is the cornerstone of a progressive economy. It is in
this theoretical and humanitarian ideology where PANGASINAN STATE UNIVERSITY ALAMINOS
Campus, the ninth campus of PSU was conceptualized by HON. HERNANI A. BRAGANZA,
City Mayor in a meeting with some PSU officials lead by President VICTORIANO C.
ESTIRA.
The Sangguniang Panglungsod of the City of Alaminos has favorably endorsed and approved
the establishment of Pangasinan State University Campus in the City of Alaminos
as contained in Resolution No. 2007-84 adopted on November 16, 2007. In 2008, the
City has allocated a Ten Million Budget for the first PSU building.
PSU Alaminos City Campus was approved by the PSU Board of Regents sitting en banc
on April 19, 2009 at the University Hotel, University of the Philippines, Diliman,
Quezon, City as contained in its Resolution No. 04, series 2009. PSU Alaminos Campus
was conceived with the principle that the National and Local Government have the
responsibility of ensuring the happiness and well being as well as a stable life
of the present generation brought about by a progressing economy and a well developed
society that exist within the wider context of the environment that requires the
interaction among well educated and value-driven citizens.
PSU highly enthused for the establishment of its ninth PSU Campus forged a collaborative
partnership with the LGU of the City of Alaminos to serve not only the constituents
of the City but also the First District of Pangasinan and Northern Zambales. Hence,
with the able leadership of President Victoriano C. Estira, PSU has established
partnership with Hon. MARCELO E. NAVARRO JR., Municipal Mayor of Bani and signed
a Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment of PSU BANI EXTENSION classes, a
satellite Campus on the 4th day of May, 2009.
PSU Alaminos and Bani
Extension Campus have started its operation Last June 15,
2009 with one hundred two (102) students. As of July, 2009 there are fifty six (56)
students enrolled in Associate in Arts, and forty one (41) students in the Ladderized
Program of BS in Fisheries. Most of the students are scholars of Mayor Navarro,
Mayor Braganza and Governor Espino. These students are now housed in the Filipino-Chinese
Chamber of Commerce Building in Bani East Central School in Bani, Pangasinan while
waiting for the PSU Building in Alaminos City.
Associate in Arts is a two year course leading to the following courses which are
all offered in the different PSU components, hence may be offered hereto:
A. EDUCATION
Teacher Education Program is the lead program of PSU as it has the most number of
enrolments. In terms of Accreditation Status, the Teacher Education Program particularly
in Bayambang Campus has likewise been granted Level III status which is the highest
level of all accredited programs in the University.
Moreover, studies have shown that aside from Nursing and Computer Education, Education
is the most preferred career choice among high school students. The following courses
will be offered:
A.1 General Education/Associate in Arts (A 2-Year Diploma Course Leading to a Four
Year Course)
A. 2 BSE major in Biological Science, Communication Arts English/Filipino, Math
and Social Science.
A.3 BEEd with concentration on SPED and General Education.
B. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
The academic program, BS Hospitality Management will also be offered to respond
to the demands of Alaminos City as the Tourism Capital of Pangasinan. This will
prove the offering of the following:
B.1 Associate in Hotel and Restaurant Management (2years)
B.2 Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (4years)
C. AGRICULTURE
AGRICULTURE is the major occupation of the people in the city at about 90% of the
residents in the District is in farming communities. Hence, the offering of:
C.1 Diploma in Agriculture Technology (2years)
C.2 Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (4years)
D. MEDICAL COURSES
Courses that are medical-based are of high demand in the global market. The city
of Alaminos has also started a 300-bed hospital close to the site of PSU Alaminos,
hence, the offering of the following ladderized and degree courses:
D.1 Care giving Course (6months)
D.2 Nursing Aide (1-2 years)
D.3 Medical Transcription
D.4 Bachelor of Science in Nursing
E. Ladderized BS in Fisheries will lead to four year courses, namely:
E.1 Bachelor in Science in Fisheries
E.2 Bachelor in Science in Fisheries Education
Courses in Fisheries Management and Fisheries Education is offered
because Alaminos City and Bani has a predominantly coastal landscape. In fact, 9
Barangays in Alaminos City are in coastal area. Correspondingly, the neighboring
towns of Sual, Anda, Bolinao, Agno, Burgos, Infanta, and Dasol are also engaged
in fishing.
